Serendipity and airplanes
Oddy enough, sat both legs of the flights home with my seatmate from my BWI to DIA trek. She’s a job change consultant for financial and insurance type people. Lots of churn in the insurance and underwriting industry these days; companies in locations where no people are and loads of just downsized people where no companies are. She’s trying to get companies to work out telecommuting options for these people so they need not relocate. Quite an interesting discussion about the dynamics of connecting willing parties. Networking seems key for her field. Funnily enough, we didn’t end up exchanging cards (me because I don’t have any new ones, she because I neglected to ask I suppose).
