ALA Activites

Filed under: Miscellaneous — AaronTheLibrarian @ 4:02 am

In case you couldn’t tell, I’m moderately busy with ALA stuff.

  • Current
    • ALA Councilor at large (2008 - 2009)
    • ALA OITP Advisory Committee
      • Member of the Committee (2006 - 2010)
    • ALA OITP Advisory / ALA COL Joint Technology Policy Subcommittee
      • Member of the Committee (2006 -
    • LITA Web Coordinating Committee
      • LITA Web Coordinator for Committees (2006 - 2008)
      • Member of the Commitee (2004 - 2008)
  • Past
    • ALA Councilor at large candidate (2008)
[I received 3068 votes, earning me 35th place overall - happily one of the candidates with more votes than I was also elected PLA Councilor - so I got the nod to serve out the term of a Councilor at large who resigned from Council. Only one vote separated me from the 34th place, wow.]
    • Reactor Panel to the Presidential Task Force on the Graduated Dues Study
      • Member of the Reactor Panel (2006 - 2008)
    • ALA Councilor at large candidate (2007)
[I received 2449 votes, I learned that not hunting for votes will result in lower vote-counts (for those with visibility in only small circles within ALA, such as myself), only 404 shy of making it. hm… a “404 not-found” error?]
    • ALA Councilor at Large candidate (2006)
[I received 2901 votes, I am so motivated by this, only ~300 shy of making it!]
    • ALA Membership Committee
      • Virtual Member of the Committee (2004 - 2006)
    • ALA OITP Advisory Committee
      • Committee Representative to the L. Ray Patterson Award Nominations Committee (2005 - 2006)
      • Intern for the Committee (2004 - 2006)
    • NMRT Leadership Development Committee
      • Chair (2003 - 2004)
      • Co-Chair (2002 - 2003)
      • Member (2002)
    • NMRT Web Steering Committee
      • Member of the Committee (2002 - 2003)
